Its 15 july and this one time happening in 10 years lunar eclipse. Watch the live streaming here.

In Central Lunar Eclipse, the moon crosses through the centre of the Earth’s Shadow Circle.

So, the moon becomes too dark during the totality, says SWAN’s secretary Debasis Sarkar, who is also the national executive committee member of Confederation of Indian Amateur Astronomers (CIAA).

Among the India’s places north Bengal comes at a vantage position from where all the phases of this Eclipse will be visible. But Central lunar Eclipse does not come frequently.

From 1900 to 2010, total 155 Lunar Eclipses took place. Of them only 30 Total Lunar Eclipses could be sighted from India.

Out of these 30, India had seen the last Central Lunar Eclipse on March 24, 1978 and will see the next Central Lunar Eclipse on July 27, 2018.

SWAN has decided to study the cosmic phenomenon with database preparation, still, video, Time laps Movie, split Spectrum and photography of Moon during the Eclipse.

Mr Sarkar said the entire Eclipse will be shown LIVE through SWAN’s website along with special demonstration and technical explanations especially prepared from students.

”This is going to be the first live worldwide webcast by any amateur astronomy club from north Bengal,” Mr Sarkar claimed.
